I have a male boxer, Wrigley; he is 15 mos old. Two days ago I noticed a wart on his lip and then when I opened his mouth I found three more!! I have an appointment to take him to the vet tomorrow to get them checked out. I just wanted to raise this question to see if anyone has dealt with this before. Help!!

I'm not sure if they are warts but my 10 month old had the same thing. They were all over her lips, almost on the inside. I searched the forums here for some tips and a couple of them said that she could be having a reaction to beef in her food and to stop using plastic bowls for her food and water since they hold bacteria. I switched her from Science Diet beef to chicken and poof...they were gone. Good luck, let us know what your vet says.

Mason just went through that - they are puppy warts (it's a virus that can affect puppies up to two years old) and they are not a problem unless they impede eating. His went away in about a month.

My Cassius (Male-18 months) just came from the Vet after finding one on his lip this morning...she said it's just a virus (much like the human wart) and it will run it's course...if we remove it it may come back...sometimes they multiply too but nothing to worry about unless they bleed, ooze, or get in the way of him eating. Also, they are CONTAGIOUS to other dogs NOT humans!!

Warts

Our 4 1/2 month old just had a few warts on hit butt removed. Any idea what those are caused from? I was just worried about an unclean vet or if his puppy school floor was dirty..would that cause it?

Just had worts looked at myself

Not in the mouth but behind the ear and on the leg. The vet said it was perfectly natural and once the dog's body figures out it is a foreign body it will take care of it. Nothing to be alarmed at.

We had Warts TOO

My big brindle boy Toby had warts on his lips too. Came on really fast. Had at least 5 - 6 of them. They looked horrible. Then they would bleed all over. I made an appt with Vet and they were all gone before he was seen by her. She said viral - they went away as fast as they came. He was just a month short of 2 yrs old when he got them. Good luck.
