Walking with a Gentle Leader Leash!!!

Well after over a year with boxers we decided to try out this "gentle leader" thing that I have always heard about in these forums... Let me say, It is AMAZING! People! don't wait to try this thing! If you have any issues with a pulling, over excited walker, try the gentle leader out. Make sure to watch the video in the package too, it answers alot of questions..
We were so amazed, that I had to post on here to share my excitement!! =)

Did you get the head collar or the harness?

I have the head collar and absolutely agree for my Boxers, although I use another device on my GSD.

I bought the harness for my boys after reading the forums on here. My husband has been using it on Odie and I used it today for the first time... love it! My walk was SO much easier than before. Being able to actually walk him and not having my arm pulled off was awesome haha. I'm glad you're enjoying it too!

I have the harness for Bailey (was Tyson's first). I had a nose one for my Scamp (mixed mutt who is at the bridge now) and loved it. He was extremely strong and pulled like crazy. The GL made it possible to walk him.
I tried the muzzle on on Bailey, but she would have nothing to do with that thing on her nose LOL. She is such a diva!

i bought a gentle lead harness for joey and its stopped pulling instantly!! i was almost in tears from the pulling! now im almost in tears from the nice walking!! its great i recommend it to everyone i know

It's great, though I do wish I had redoubled my efforts to train my dog to walk with a loose leash when I got the gentle leader, rather than allowing the pulling to continue since the head halter diminished its effects. I'd love to be able to eventually just hook his leash onto his collar, and I am able to do this without pulling now..... unless he sees another dog or a cat or is suddently interested in someone and then WOW do I wish the gentle leader was back on.

I was never really a GL fan.... until I got my own. The fact that I can go for a walk now and not get nervous when I see a dog in the distance--AWESOME. And now I feel like we can move forward in our training because I can actually reward her for not pulling towards other dogs. Otherwise I could never reward her for being calm because calm never happened...

Plus the humane society's annual dog walk is coming up and it'll be nice knowing I have her under control!

I might have to try the head collar... we got the harness, and he still pulls a lot when people or other dogs are around. Much better than without it, but I'm thinking that head collar might work better.
