I've been using the gentle leader on Jake and it works great to control him but he still hasn't gotten used to it and he's always rubbing his face on peoples legs. He also manages to slide it off his face. Today I was at petco and I saw the Gentle Leader Walk Easy Harness so I tried it out and it works great. I have just as much control as the gentle leader. I don't know why these work and regular harnesses don't. Maybe it's because it latches on to the front of the dog. So anyone looking for something for the dog that pulls try it out it works just as good if not better than the gentle leader.

I too love this harness, i use it on my little boston boy, he has no nose to put a gentle leader on, it has made such a difference. You wouldn't think his 11lbs could really pull, but he can, he pulls our 50lb girl around on the carpet while she is laying down.I really recomend this product. I found it a little difficult to get sized right but once i got someone that knows what there doing to do it life was great on our walks.

i agree with you! we have the easy walk harness and it is great! rocky used to make walking him impossible due to jumping. now his jumping problem is 80% better and it helps with pulling too.

Easy Walk Harness

I purchased a Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness today for Harley a 70 pound male boxer (and need I mention the love of my life?) I wish I had purchased this item months ago. Harley used to pull me so badly that I could no longer walk him. He would almost choke himself while we were on our walks and many times I lost my footing. Today, I tried the Easy Walk Harness for the first time and it was like magic. Harley and I took THREE walks today. I am in awe. I would recommend this product to all Boxer owners.

sporn harness

my trainer recommended a Sporn harness, not sure how different it is from the one you're talking about, but it was amazing the difference even the first day. They try to pull and they cannot. it's wonderful! Dutch is responding very well with it, and I can now walk her without the harness if there are no distractions...

The Sporn Halter didn't work for us. Otis actually busted out of it as we were walking down the street. Luckily for us, I realized really quickly and grabbed him around the neck (in a hug) and snapped him back up and then used his collar to hold on to him until we got to the car. Yes, he was super distracted as it was Halloween night and all the kids were out trick or treating. Thankfully we were on a residential street but it was dark and there were cars on the road. No telling what could have happened if he got away. Yes...we're still working on recall.

I haven't used the Sporn since! Only DH takes him for a walk since I can't handle him when he pulls. I was getting shoulder/back pain from the strain. I'll have to check out the Gentle Harness and see if that might work.

I use a similar product called a Loopi (made by the same company as Halti) with my Belle. She pulls terribly and almost chokes herself. We tried both a Halti and Gentle Leader on her but she's got such a short nose that they didn't fit right.
We took her to a pet supply store that let us try out the loopi on her..let us take her outside and whatnot to see how it worked and it's great! no more pulling :)
