I had read that Boxers really liked small children...but I had no idea how much until last night. My uncle and his wife and two small children came up with some Christmas presents. Iggy was insane once he saw the children. He wouldn't calm down, so we put him in the kennel with his rope and an ice cube, which usually works to distract and cool him, but not that night. He was vibrating wildly, faster than I had ever seen. He was blurry, his little stubbins was waggling so hard. He was frothing madly, and "urfing" to see the kids. They both loved it, of course, and stuck their hands in the cage to let Iggy lick them. I really wish that we could let him out around them, but they're only 2 and 1, and so teeny, and with Iggy's insane energy and muscle mass, his parents are really worried that he'd hurt them. I just wish that I'd had a camera...I've never seen a dog go so batty over two little children before.

Daisy does the same thing... She thinks everyone loves her and wants to pet her... I can't take her to petsmart because she loves to pounce everyone... But she loves my 3 year old... When we first got her she wanted to bite at her when Alissa was 2... One night while watching TV Alissa bit Daisy back cause Daisy bit her... So now Daisy doesn't bite her anymore... She nibbles her and opens and closes her mouth but no more biting... But she has to be locked up around kids... She knocks them over.

I must say this is a breed that loves children more than other breeds. Vegas some how knows when he can be crazy 
and when to be calmer. Gary takes him to work with him everyday, one day a autistic boy came in. Vegas new that there was something different about this boy, he crawled over to him on his belly and rested his head on the boy's foot. He was so gentle to this boy, the boy was thrilled and gave him tons of attention. Yet Vegas doesn't hesitate to knock my 4yr old neice to the ground and give her kisses. Funny how they know things.

That's so sweet! I know a lot of autistic children react well to animals, so it's great that your dog somehow knew how to act around him. My brother has said that Iggy is also like this around his friend's Norwiegan Elkhound puppy, Caillou. Quote: "He loves that puppy so much he doesn't know what to do with himself."

I too thought that my nieces (2 and 3 ) should be kept separate. But my niece Maile thought differnt. After pulling up her stood and playing, giving treats and talking with my Diabla she deciede she had enough to the crate between her and Diabla so she just opened the crate! I thought Diabla would knock her down and scare her, but she did not.
Diabla did end up on top of her giving her lots of wet kisses. Which made Maile giggle and laugh. As soon as Maile wanted up Diabla got out of her way. Maile was still in charge.

Mr. Titan is the same way- if he gets tired of an adult buggin him or petting him he gets up and walks away. Now if my niece and nephew (7and 5) are running and jumping over him, or petting him, he just looks up at you like "oh, they drive me crazy but I just love them so much I dont want them to leave me alone" If the kids stop messing with him he starts crying and follows them, like "hey, come back and give me more luvin" silly doggies

Rocky adores kids! He lives to lick faces will wiggle faster & harder when he hears the laughter (as if he know they are laughing at his silly bum with a life of its own!). He can be gentle, but will not hesitate to give a full body slam to my older sons friends during a football or soccer game in the yard. He will cuddle my 2 year old and wait patiently while he explores his mushy face for crumbs. He tolerates kisses from my 6 yr old and will slow dowm when they play Rocky golf ( a game I cannot even begin to describe) so Chrisitan can catch up. I love my boxer baby!

I was totally surprised the first time my Molly met my nieces 3 and 1. It was just this past Friday night and I was helping my parents look after them. My sister and her husband were at a Christmas party and my husband works evenings so I went to spend time with them. Anyway, initially Molly was so hyper she even managed to scratch Aurora (1 year) on the Cheek. However, Aurora didn't cry or anything I think it looked worse than it really was. Being that Molly is only 15 weeks she is a little extra hyper.
The evening progressed and I was so proud of my puppy she allowed the girls to play with her gowls (they are getting flappy now), pet her and steal her toys and she never once growled or tried to puppy nip them. Us that's another story.
At Bath time Molly sat by the side of the tub and allowed the girls to drip water on her. She was so good.
But the night wasn't over yet. My 3 yr old niece Savina has a thing with monsters under the bed. I think Molly could somehow sense that she was scared. We wern't letting Molly in the bed room because we believed she would just get Savina excited but when she finally got in she whined to get up on the bed and I let her up thinking she wanted to say good night and Savina could use a smile. But Molly cuddled with her and it seemed to get rid of Savina's fears and they both slept or cuddled peacefully until my sister came home.
It was late and I was tired to but didn't have the heart to take Molly away from Savina and take her home.
I was so proud of my puppy she gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that has yet to pass.
