Best Of Luck

In humans the disease is called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. You can look on the American Lung Association website and do an internet search for info on how it's treated/managed in humans.

One suggestion that I would have is an Alpine Air Purifier.

Keep us posted!! I'll think good thots.

Has your baby been tested for Valley Fever? My sil has a lab that has battled VF for the past 2 years. She is on medication and is doing better every day. The sysmtoms you discribe sound just like what she has. VF hits your lungs and is a cronic illness that presents like mono...no appetite...very sleepy. When you mentioned that you were in a new house in a new area, the light bulb came on. Valley fever comes from the dirt and is normally present around new construction. In Arizona, because of the desert, the statistics say that most people who live here has had it at one time or another. I had it in college and was hospitalized with lung issues. Just a thought...ask your vet.

My prayers are with you all....

Queenmum:
What antibiotics was your baby prescribed for the VF?

Our eddition backs up to a large hill and they just leveled off the top and they are building a Bass Pro Shop, hotels, and more housing edditions. Which has stirred up alot of dust and grime. Also they have built 5 homes around ours in the last 4-5 months too! Which is when he started getting ill! This may be what he has!
On the X-rays the Vet said that his lung tubes were swollen and visible, which they should just fade away! Let me know! Thanks

Also he did really good last night, I was smashed between my husband and Bruno, he decided he wanted to sleep with me. Also he loved the chicken and rice combo. And the yogurt was a huge hit! Thanks again for all your help and info!

Wow what an emotional ride this thread read is!!! Personally, I would not let one vet's evaluation decide if I was going to put my dog to sleep. I would seek specialists and do tons of research on the internet myself..

Yes! Valley Fever is the sickness I read about on another thread but I could not remember the name. I am glad Queenmum posted.

Poor baby I hope the medication solves the problem.

Yes, with any antibiotic therapy you should feed yogurt to help keep the system in balance and make sure not to miss a drug dose or the treatment cycle is broken and you have to start the drugs over for the specified timeframe.

Keep us posted and don't make any rash decision. :)

I called my sil and got the following info:

Teifa (her lab) is on 175mg 3X per day of Flucanozole. This is an antifungal that she will need to remain on for quite a while.
She is also on Clavamox 250mg 2 tabs 2X per day. This is the antibiotic.

I also found this information online. Check it out. Write me back if there is anything I can do for you.

Well were home, fixing to make Burno his dinner! He is acting like his crazy lil self! I am so thankful for my lil guy! My husbands mom called and she was just a talking to him on speaker phone and a giggling and man did Bruno perk up, he sure loves his grandma ma!
He is wanting to play fetch and jump around! I did speak with the boxer rescue vet today and she said that the Valley Fever is a possibliity and to have the previous vets do a fungus test on his blood that they have already taken from him this week!
So I am going to call tomorrow to see if we can try that route too!

Thank GOD for such a wonderful miracle, our family is so blessed to have this baby boy in our lives !!!!!
I did alot of research today on the Valley Fever and printed it off to fax over to my vet tomorrow when he gets back in the office. Just incase he isnt too familiar with it, since it is usually local in Arizona or southern Cali!
Again thank you for all the advice!!!! Bruno sends his kisses too!
