Hey you all, since I have been reading about all of these wonderful boxers I feel we are all close friends united by the love of our dogs. Well I have not had a very good year with my boxers, I lost my beloved Brutus about 3 mos ago (he was 14 but still so very hard to let go) then I had gotten a new boxer pup Chancy (9 mos) and although he was supposed to have his shots he got PARVO, but thank goodness after two weeks of daily trips to the vet to get IV fluids, and lots of love, he recovered. Just when I was about to relax my other white, MyGuyver (9 yrs) started acting oddly and after a trip to the vet on Saturday, they fear he may have a brain tumor and in just a few days he has gotten so listless. I'm really having a terrible time and the pressure is starting to take a toll, I work 2 jobs so I'm hanging on by a thread. Has anyone ever had a boxer that got a brain tumor?
Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thank you all.:(

I am so sorry to hear your news. I don't have any advice for you but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Bailey and Riley send you lots of boxer hugs and kisses.

Hi Glenna. I don't have any wisdom on Brain Tumors but I wanted to let you know how sorry I am. I hope you can get some replies from all the wondeful people here with knowledge on the subject. In the mean time feel free to open up and let us share in your time of grief by helping you take some of the load off. Sometimes just knowing you're not alone helps a great deal, I hope you know you're not alone. If there is anything I can do please feel free to ask. My ears are always open. Once again I am sorry.

I have not had a boxer with a brain tumor but did loose one in Oct. 2000 to a form of cancer called lymphoma. She was my first boxer and still in my heart. I understand the turmoil that you going through right now having to decide the best treatment for your loved one. I am sure that the bond that you two share will help you in the choices. Remember that we are here for you on the board. Our thoughts and prayers are with you with lots of boxer kisses.

I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. I can only imagine how hard it is. My sheltie had a central brain lesion and went down hill quickly from the time of diagnosis. Although he died of heart failure and not the brain tumor it did cause him to have mild seizures. We were lucky that he did not have grand mal seizures. His lesion caused him to loose the use of one side of his body at times. It is very difficult to watch them go through this. We lost Garrett in December of last year and he was diagnosed around August. Please know that if there is anything I can do, even be a shoulder, do not hesitate to ask. I am sure someone here on the Board will be able to give you advice. Have they suggested an MRI to give a better diagnosis and prognosis? Hugs to you and lean on us anytime!!!

A lot of us have lost a beloved Boxer to cancer or tumors so we know how badly you feel. We took it day by day with Tyson and when the end came it was much like losing a child. People that aren't truly dog lovers cannot understand. We here on the board do and offer you our sympathy and love.

I am very sorry to hear this. We seem to lose far more boxers to forms of cancers than anything else these days. I too am in the process of dealing with the dreaded disease and fear for my girl Rose. I have no experience with brain tumors but would imagine they would be treated much the same as humans.

I will give you the advice that all these wonderful people here have given me. Just love your boy for every minute you can and enjoy what ever time you have together.

Hugs and boxer slobbers to you all.
