I agree about stepping in dog poo! It only takes ONE person to NOT pick up the poo and then a small child stepping in it. ICK!

As for paying taxes, we should be PROUD that we pay them to keep the schools going. I can't believe the complaining......It's for the children, not the animals.

You are right... we should be proud to keep the schools going and I've re-read my post and I agree, I am being rather silly.

I would imagine the people that don't pick up after their dogs also don't obey the "No Dogs Allowed" signs... therefore, I believe such restrictions only effect the responsible dog owners.

feeling a little silly,

hey, there, I'm so glad that we're all good now ;). i must admit that i acted very rashly too, im sorry but it makes me really upset to think that people out there are begrudging their contribution to leaders of the future. i mean c'mon, we are the people who are going to decide how much your pension is :P. okay, i'm obviously still upset, not at you, but i know that there are still other people who feel that way. so excuse everything im saying, im just doing some random venting to let off steam ;)

cheers everyone!!

I think gregory'sdad got at the heart of the issue--the dog-owning segment of Andi20's community isn't being served by the local government.
I live in a community that caters to dog owners so I know how nice it is to let my dog safely run and play with other dogs off-leash a few times every day. If I lived somewhere where that wasn't the case, I might look around at other segments of the population that are being served better and feel a little slighted. "Vents" by nature are made in the heat of the moment, in frustration, etc. so of course the comments about kids can't be taken too seriously!

i get very passionate when it comes to stereotypes about children - i have suffered my share as i have purple hair and a nosering :) however, once everyone learns that you should not judge upon appearance, i guess we'll all be the better for it, eh? cheers to everyone!!

If you don’t like the stereotypes then the only thing you can do is change your hair color and take out the nosering. As long as you look like that, people’s first impression of you will be not to take you very seriously. I know this because I have ass-length purple & black hair, tongue stud and many earrings lol. People in my office have gotten used to it but I really get a kick out of people's reactions when I’ve talked to them on the phone for months and they see me for the first time.

totally off topic.....

how cool! i have never known an adult to approve of piercings etc. ;) well my parents don't mind (my dad dyes my hair for me) but old ladies glare at me in the streets and stuff, which is quite amusing. i think that mostly i don't mind the stereotypes so much cuz sometimes its so darn funny to watch people's reactions, and sometimes it gives me a chance to educate people on judging others at first glance.

totally off topic, but may i ask what piercings you have :D? i don't have many cuz i just started with my nosering in february and a conch in october, but i am very interested in getting more!! i want to get a tongue ring but i have to convince my mum first!!! :D

I have my tongue done, the cartilage in my ears (not quite sure of the names) and a few others :o I’m getting my nape and a vertical labret done one of these days and then I’ll be good for a while.
The tongue has got to be one of the easiest ones to get. It hurts a lot less than you’d expect and heals within a few days (as long as you use sea salt and no chemical mouth washes). Just keep it away from your teeth and make sure the beads are tight all the time so you don’t inhale them :)

living in the city, and having a very small yard can be tough on boxer owners, I can relate.

I live in Kansas City, in the city, and my yard is very small, I had to drive around, found a couple of local parks, and one baseball field, I usually take my dogs to the ball field as long as no games are being played. If games are being played I try one of the parks....
