I am new to this forum, I have posted previous threads about adopting or rescuing a boxer and I am so delighted to say we adopted a lovely one and a half year old male named DAMION.
His owners seemed concerned about him when we went to pick him up, but i got a totally different vibe he was very scared of us at first it took about an hour before he finally came around, but when he did he was ready to go with us for sure. He is a little skinny and he had injuries on his front left paw the owner says it is due to a fight with another dog. The owner gave us his food and collar along with a chain they kept him tied with, for some reason he want have anything to do with the collar chain or the food we had to dispose of all that and purchase new, kinda suspious to me. The owner told me he was never kept inside and i should be prepared for potty training, but i have made no effort toward this and he lets us know when he needs to go. Seems he was just starved for attention with new food a collar and a leash he is very happy.
Although I can tell he misses being outside all the time, with a walk everyday and some playtime in the yard he is sure ready for a nap afterwards. I dont know what happened with the previous owners but he surely is much different than he was when we first met him. We are working on some basic commands like sit, stay, and he gets his stitches removed tomorrow YAY!!!
we are giving him the love he deserves.
