Our lil' boxer Chance is doing pretty good at housetraining BUT when he is in his crate he pees and poops almost every time! I don't understand this behavior b/c he is not sick. I was told and have read everywhere that puppies will not go in thier crate, but Chance always at least pees in his and doesn't seem to mind. Can anyone give any advice to stop this behavior?*

How big is the crate? If there is room to sleep in one end and go to the bathroom in the other, it is too big.

I know what you mean!

My puppy Mosley is 5 months and does the same thing. I am confused too! Everyone I talk to says that he shouldn't pee where he sleeps, but he doesn't seem to mind. We got the cage that can be blocked off so he can only turn around and lay down, any smaller it would be torture. Everyone tells me that he might be left in there too long, but he seems to do it all the time. Others have told me he will grow out of it, and I hope so. I wanted to let you know to keep it up, and being patient is key. I feel the pain!

bedding

Well we put an old comforter in Chance's crate and he doesn't go potty in there AS OFTEN but he still does. Right now we are having a problem b/c it's raining a lot and he ABSOLUTELEY WILL NOT GO POTTY OUTSIDE! He will walk straight into the house and squat. Oh! It drives me nuts!
