Just wondering if the UTI cleared up. We are going through the same thing with Lucky -- she's on her third round with Clavamox and we're waiting for this culture to come back. I hope that your situation has cleared up. We can't get her spayed until it is cleared up. Hopefully soon!!

Same thing..

Lucy is 14 weeks old and we are in our second round of Clavamox. She was urinating frequently when we brought her home at 8 weeks, would squat to pee and nothing would come out, and we found red blood cells in her urine. Tomorrow she finishes her second dose (this one was a 14 day treatment) and today I took in another urine sample. I am putting organic plain yogurt in her food, it has the good bacteria in it that is being stripped away from the Clavamox (and she LOVES it!) She is fine as long as she is in her crate and can sleep through the night. Please let me know how things progress and I'll do the same! I have also heard of putting aloe vera juice in their water? Has anyone else heard of that? I hate to keep giving her antibiotics and would love any holistic approaches! THANK YOU!!!

One of our dogs had a UTI awhile back and was treated holistically for it. She was on something called Cantharis for 5 days--no antibiotics at all. Our holistic vet also told me to give her 500 mg. of cranberry extract per day. She hasn't had another one since. I think I have read on here that some members have put cranberry juice in their dog's drinking water for UTI's. Paula

All gone (fingers crossed)

For 2nd occurence of the UTI (yes it came back), the vet sent out the culture. In the mean time she was on Cephalexin (antibiotic) for 10 days. The culture came back at day 5 and the vet said to continue the antibiotic for a TOTAL of 21 days. Haven't seen the UTI return. It's been almost a month since finishing the antibiotics. Good Luck.
