Urinary incontinence and UTI's in male boxer

So, this is a little long. But, I'm so frusterated and at a loss with what to do. Just wondering if anyone has had the same experience with their male boxer. I've been told that urinary incontinence is rare in the males. So hears my story.....
I have a 10 year old male boxer that I have been battling urinary incontinence for 1 1/2 years now. He would only urinate while sleeping. He's been taking Proin and that seems to control it. He still has occassional accidents. Starting in May he started dribbling during the day and even while awake walking around. I took him into the vet and he was treated for a UTI. The antibiotics seemed to help for a couple weeks and then the UTI came back even worse. He started peeing blood and constantly trying to pee. Back to the vet. They took x-rays and there weren't any stones showing and his prostate looks normal. They also checked his blood and everything came back normal with his blood work. This time the urinalysis showed some transitional cells in the urine, which could possible mean cancer. He was put back on the antibiotic and he stopped dribbling for the first week. Then the second week he started dribbling again and having more frequent accidents at night. Back to the vet and started on a stronger antibiotic. They want to take an ultrasound of his bladder to check for a mass. Which is really expensive. I just can't afford it and I'm not going to put him through surgery with his weak heart if there is a mass. (Which he's on heart medication also) We are on day two with the stronger antibiotic. He has to wear boy underwear while in the house. He's pretty embarrassed by this!
Anyone have any insight on my situation?

You're almost describing my situation except the part about peeing while asleep.
My boy started dribbling urine here and there. Few days later, there was blood in the urine (especially when he would drip - looked like pure blood). He was treated with antibiotics for UTI twice. The second time with stronger antibiotics. Then, he had the urine test done including culture, seemed ok. Then, a blood test, x-rays which didn't show anything out of ordinary. Then, the ultrasound showed big mass (tumor) in his bladder. They told me there is nothing they can do other then slow the growth down with Piroxicam. They said they can't operate where the cancer is located and all we can do is make him comfortable and hope for the best. They told me he's got a month to possibly a year :(

So, I just came back from seeing an oncologist. Making a very long story shorter, they did more tests, ultrasounds, etc... They noticed that its actually not in his bladder. It's outside of the bladder pressing against it making him harder to pee and possibly causing the drip. However, because there is blood in his urine, they think it's primary vascular tumor (hemangiosarcoma) that has gotten through the wall to his bladder or something... They are going to do a scope this Friday to see what's causing the blood in his urine and maybe get a sample of this stuff if possible. Then, we'll go from there. Either way, it's not looking good at all!!!

Bottom line, if it's not UTI or stones, you're probably looking at something more serious :( It is very expensive but the ultrasound is the next thing at this point to see what's going on with the poor guy... I'm sorry to hear about your situation and I can totally relate. I'm having a hard time with it... Good luck!
