Hello,
My big girl Ashley is sick on the stomach. She's been throwing up. I don't know what is wrong with her. Everything she ate she threw up. The food that I give is Beneful (weight controlled). This has happened once last week, another time on Friday, and last night she threw up her dinner and a time right after that. Then after that about 11:30pm she threw up 2 times. I used to feed her white potatoes and whiting fish (boiled). I think it would be better to give that to her instead of the beneful. If you have suggestions please help me fast!!!!!
Thanks
Kimberly

Try her on a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. About 400-500 grams cooked weight is about right for a meal.

Then, once her tummy upset is under control, I'd suggest weaning her onto a better quality food. Beneful is basically junk, I'm afraid. Full of by-products and cheap grains like corn and wheat that commonly cause problems for dogs. Something like Canidae or Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul would be a much better choice ;)

Quite honestly, anything would be better than Beneful ;) Beneful is indeed one of the lowest quality foods on the market. It is full of by-products, common allergens and grains, all of which could be causing an allergic reaction in your female.

I would switch her over to a higher quality food. I'm not a fan of 'weight management' foods, rather why not feed her a good quality "all stages" food and feed less of it? That, combined with a little extra excercise will definitely keep her weght under control.

www.boxerworld.com/feeding has some great information on how to choose a good quality dry dog food. You can also do a search on "premium kibble" and find tons of suggestions.

Good luck

Beneful is really not good food. You might want to check out this link to find a good food for your girl. http://www.boxerworld.com/feeding/ If she keeps throwing up, I would fast her for 24 hours and then you could try boiled chicken and rice or oatmeal and rice.

I hope she is feeling better soon!

I'm sorry your baby isn't feeling well..here are my thoughts, if she isn't holding anything down she will get dehydrated very quickly..I would suggest a trip to the vet if it continues, it could be a blockage..and this is very dangerous..I know from experience..I don't want to scare you but keep a close eye on her..sending slobbery kisses...

So sorry your baby Ashley is not feeling well. I do suggest the boiled chicken and rice diet. Porter had gastritis recently and following the advice of the moderators here on BW, we fed him boiled chicken and rice. He was keeping down his food in no time. We also switched to Canidae and he has been doing wonderfully. Make sure when she is doing better to add her kibble in slowly to get her used to it again.

You might want to give a call to the vet to be sure she doesn't need any meds or like Laura said to be sure it isn't anything serious.

Sending tons of <<<feel better vibes>>> and (((hugs)))
