Well Daisy seemed to be getting better last night as the shaking started to go away.

This morning she has been better but when anyone gets near her to give kisses she lunges at our faces to nip us. Are dogs known to become aggressive after spaying?? She has never shown aggressiveness. It seems in particular to our 1 year old. She just gives her these looks of ready to attack her!

No, normally they don't become aggressive after spaying. could be she still has some of the anesthesia and/or pain meds still in her system and she's a bit "out of sorts" and confused. Actually most notice a more mellow animal after spaying/neutering.

Take care with the little one near the dog. And give the vet a call to see what he/she thinks about the lunging to nip..

She might be in pain - the only time Grumpy ever actually lunged at us was when she was in a lot of pain. (She broke a tooth trying to chew her crate, silly girl). It seemed like the combo of scared and hurting made her want to defend herself, even from DH and me.
Grumpy was very sore after her spay & the vet prescribed remidyl - she only had to take a couple, just to get through the first night & the next day.
I'd call the vet & let them know about the behavior - just in case she has pain still or discomfort that is making her act different.

It would be my guess that she is in pan also? Was she prescribed an pan meds for afterwards? I know each vet is different but Abbie and Brady both had Deramax. I guess the caution that vets take is that if they are in any pain they may hirt themselves but I know if I had just been spayed, I would want something to take the edge off :)

Not normal-the girl is hurting and feeling a little scared. Call your vet and let us know how you make out
