To follow up on my post about his food (I figured this section is more appropriate than the feeding one).. he had to take a trip to the vet tonight. He continued to have mucousy diarrhea and then this evening started vomiting and got really lethargic. My vet told us to come straight in. He vomited in my car 5 times throughout the 10 minute drive to the vet. Once we got there he laid on the floor drooling and frothing at the mouth and wouldn't get up. They gave him an anti-emetic shot to control his nausea/vomiting and sent us home with flagyl as well. He perked up a tiny bit but has thrown up once since being home. The vet told me that if he starts vomiting a lot again or becomes lethargic like he was when we were there, that we should take him in to Emerg and they will have to start an IV to give him fluids and meds.

Fingers crossed that he improves tonight. I am scared to continue using his brand of dog food now that he has had all of these issues. For tonight he's getting chicken and rice for dinner. Thankfully he is still eating and drinking well.

He did much better throughout the night and we didn't have to take him in. He still has diarrhea but hasn't thrown up since last night. He doesn't have his regular boxer spunk but isn't just laying on the floor at least. Hopefully he is back to his old self soon!
