Quimby went to my vet yesterday for neutering. Only one of his testicules had dropped so she had to go looking for the other one. She also removed two lumps from him. One is a mass cell tumor. My sister talked to the people who had Quimby before. They had been taking him to Companion Pet Clinic. They had been told the lump was a cyst, and had taken him back twice to have it checked. Could a cyst turn into cancer? Could my vet be wrong? She detected a heart murmur when I brought him in for a check up, previously. They had never mentioned anything about his heart murmur. I was planning on only fostering Quimby until we could find him his new forever home. It looks like it was just meant to be. He came into our life's so we could take care of him. Hubby is starting to soften. My biggest concern now is the tumor.

Try not to worry too much. I know, easier said than done. WHen I got my girl Ginger at 2 1/2 she had 2 growths as well and I had them removed when I took her in to get spayed. The one on her neck was a grade 1 mast Cell. The vet removed it with large margins that came back clean. I was worried to death too but hopefully you guys caught it in time. I hope everything works out okay for you and for Quimby. I know how you feel, it is very scary.
