Hello! I hould like to know if, in your opinion, it is possible (with professional training maybe) to do the daily walk with our Boxer unleash? Thank you!

It's very possible, but not without putting some time into training. I would talk to some trainers in your area about obtaining this goal.

It is definitely possible. We were able to do it with two of our previous boxers. It will take your time, lots of it, and consistency to make it happen.

BTW, most areas require a leash or are areas too risky to be off leash even with training. Even so, there will be other times where it is really nice to have that kind of relationship with your dog.

I agree with ehayes, I did it with my boxer who passed away a couple of years ago and we'd go down to the mailbox (which is on another street) without him leashed HOWEVER this is illegal in many places and can open you up to huge lawsuits if something were to go wrong so just be very careful with where and when you do this.

although i completely believe that boxers are capable of this i don't think it is a really good idea due to the fact that you can never GUARANTEE that your dog won't run into traffic, playfully knock down children, run after another dog, etc.... i would love to train jasper to be controlled enough that i can have him in front of our house or with the family at a park and not have to have him on a leash, but i don't think it is otherwise a good idea... just my opinion though

We did this with both our female and male. The female would listen to every word I said, never leave my side. The male on the other hand...he's good unless he sees a bunny or squirrel and then boom he's gone, no matter how much we call him...he's in the zone of getting that animal.

In fairness to our male we did a few more obedience classes with our female since we had her 6 months prior to getting him.
