Nike and Dippy (our two Birman cats), got my attention one day as they were looking very interested in something that was going on somewhere around their little bathroom... I went to see what was going on and this is what I saw: Umma happier than ever scratching the kitties litter box for more you know what! I washed her mouth and decided she's not getting any smooches for at least few days. One way of keeping her from doing that would be to cover the box but what I really want is to teach her or make her understand that she's not supposed to do that...

Thinking about it for days now, I did not take any action and today I discovered that she did it again!

What should I do ?

We did everything we could think of to "train" Maggie not to bother the kitty litter. It didn't work. Finally we cut and installed a cat door in the door that leads into the garage, and put the litter in there. It has worked great for us, also the cat now has her own "space" to get away from the dog. Its quite humorus to see the cat on the other side of the little door smacking it with her paw and swinging it to bop Maggie in the nose. Maggie is not detured she would try to crawl through the door if she would fit. She thinks the cat is playing with her! Too bad the cat doesn't see it that way.

For some unknown reason boxers love what I have come to know as kitty krunchies. I can't begin to understand. Kira is always trying to sneek and grab a quick bite. It really disgusts me but I can never stay mad at her for long. I think we may put in a kitty door also. That seems to be the only resolution to the problem. I saw a kitty door in the JeffersPet catalog that looked like it would do the job. JeffersPet has all kinds of stuff at great prices, including nylabones at about half what you would pay at the store. Check it out!
