Ulcerated Cornea

Tucker was diagnosed with this problem and we've been very fortunate that he has not required any type of surgery. We've been putting his drops in several times a day and he has good vascular flow to his eye so they expect it to heal. Just wondering if any of you had this experience and how long it will take to get it completely healed. I see that it is a common ailment with Boxers but I've not had this problem before with any of mine.

Ulcers on the eye can be difficult to heal.
Keep up with the drops and regular vet checks.
Expect at least 2 or 3 mths before it is completely healed..

Billy had an ulcer on his eye about a year ago. The vet put luminous green stuff in his eye and we could see the ulcer clearly. She said he had probably poked it with a twig out on a walk or something.

Anyway, he had drops for about a week and then we re-visited the vet but it was not improving and so she changed the drops to another type and again we re-visited after a week. I think all told it probably took 6 weeks or so to completely disappear.

boxer eye

Boxer eye is what they call it. Our 8 year old boxer had it and nothing helped it. It never went away. I feel sick to my stomach to this day. Sorry.... hopefully yours will go away.
