Ohhhh lordy - Welcome to the club!

It seems like the ruder Mac gets, the gentler and sweeter Princess gets. He's definitely trying to push the limits, last night we had a 'discussion' over whether sleeping on the bed was a right or a privilege. I won btw..he slept in his crate.

And do I ever know the countersurfer.... smashicon smashicon when I catch him in the act and tell him off, he SLLLLOOOOWLY drops his paws and gives me a look like "whats the problem lady, I was just lookin'...jeeeeze aren't you uptight!". ;)

But he still smooches on command, so I'll keep him. lovicon

We are going through the same thing right now. Our precious Isabella (7 months) now plays this game when we are trying to get her in the house. She'll come to the back door, and we'll open it to let her in and she'll run away from the door and around the yard. So, we'll shut the door and go away, and as soon as we leave, she is back at the back door trying to come in again. And she'll do this game for hours. It is very frustrating.

The only way I can get her in is if I put some peanut butter on a spoon to lure her in...

Any suggestions?

Gotta love the "teenage years". I am happy to say that Isabella has not gotten into too much other trouble.

Hey! I think you have my Otis!!! lol

You just described my Otis to a TEE when he started his teen-aged rebellious stage at 8 months. Now he's 10 months old and still a terror!

OK...I'm over this stage and I just wish he was too!! lol

Every day is an adventure! ENJOY!

And don't you love the "grab and run and CHEW as fast as possible before it gets taken away!"

And when they are counter surfing, their tongue is out as far as it can go (which is pretty far) trying to slurp up whatever they can reach!

Shotze's Mom

I was wondering what counter-surfing was. I think Shotze has started early...she can barely reach, but her little nose will be smelling a mile a minute. I have to make sure I have nothing within her reach or its gone.

Too funny!

I feel so out of the club. Poor Tugg has never ever ever ever attempted to surf the counter. I don't think he even realizes he is tall enough to reach...poor guy. We are waiting (on pins and needles) for that 2nd boxer puppy and I am afraid it will give me a run for my money since Tugg has been such a sweetheart.

Counter surfing, I love it. lol !! I have such fond memories of Dusty @ that age. He had a thing for potpourri. He would scatter it from one end of the house to the other. He never ate it, just scattered it. Penelope figured out how to unzip the couch cushion. Stuffing was everywhere. The only thing he surfs for is bread. The newer and softer the better. It's sooo hard not to laugh. Thankfully, Dusty hasn't out grown all his antics, because the laughter is worth it. We all will laugh for years to come in our house.

OMG!!!!That is so funny....Herkie will be 4 in June....does that still count as the "adolescent" years???He still counter surfs...however I always called it "shopping".Just Wed nite I came home & after I had been here awhile my BF asked Herkie "did you tell your Mama about you stealing a piece of bread?" Off the counter, of course!Every day we play the go outside/come inside game!Honestly, I hope his adolescence(sp) last forever!I don't know that I'd have it any other way!

I remember Mason going through the adolescent stage and having to hide from him so he wouldn't see my laughter too! Good luck during this time! :)

Geez - I can totally commiserate! Ronin started this at about ten months (he's now a year old). I'm just patiently waiting for the day that he finally decides to be a nice boy! His favorite trick is to grab a Kleenex (out of any given wastbasket) and then run under the kitchen table or our bed. Then when you try a get him out of there, he nips at us. Little Toad that he has become. I know it's just a stage though, so I am hoping that one day (in the very near future) I'll get to say "Phew - been there, done that!"
