My vote is... GO FOR IT! We had 2 until my step son moved out with his Am. Staff. and now we're in the process of going through a rescue. Mainly because Kilbane isn't the same by himself in compared to when he had company. If you can afford double the vet bills, spay/nueter and food it will be a blessing having 2 in the home.

Not to be a kill joy but think hard. Winston is still in his "fun, easy" stage. Are you up for two bratty teens? Might be more enjoyable bonding and finishing Winston and then add a second latter. That way Winston came be a positive influence on the new addition. Also you can bond with each. I think it would be hard to do two at a time.

That's my concern. Winston is our first boxer. I haven't experienced the bratty stage...yet :) It isn't going to be a snap decision. We will definitely give it alot of thought before we do it.

1 is good, 2 is great.

I agree, if you can afford two, go for it. I do not know when the bratty stage is because both of ours are recsues. We got Zoe at 10 months and she was definately bratty, we just called it bad. With a lot of work and love, she now however, is great. We got Flash at approx 3 1/2 years and he was fine. Actually, Zoe has corrupted him a bit. :) It is so nice to see how close they have grown and how they just love each other. They both love us, but the bond they have just makes us smile. You are obviously not going into this lighthearted. I know you will make the right decision.

Go for it!

Go for it! We just got our second dog, Lacie a few weeks ago and it has been great. Riley loves having someone to play with and my husband and I each have a dog to cuddle with now! You won't be sorry!

Two are so much better!!!! But I agree, that you should get the other one now so that you can train them both the same, and break any bad habits before they get too much older. We love our two, but getting the one as a puppy and the other one as a rescue at 8 months has been very trying because the 8 month-old had TONS of bad habits and he has been very difficult to train to behave as well as our boxer that we have had from a puppy. And they definitely will take on each other's bad habits. But it is soooo nice having two to play with each other and we have a baby due in January and I think that the transition will be much easier since they will have one another to keep company and won't have to rely completely on us for all of their attention ( although I'm sure they will still get plenty!!!)
So by all means, if you have the time for 2 and can afford it, it's completely worth it!!!

We had a very similiar situation. We were so excited to pick Pepper up from the breeder when she was 8 weeks old. After having her for only 3 weeks, the breeder left us a voicemail informing us that someone had backed out and did not want her sister (11 weeks at this point). It was a huge decision for us and we were not sure we could handle 2 puppies at once!! Well....they just turned 5 in August, and I have to say it was the BEST decision we ever made. It was difficult in the beginning (as it can be with any puppy), but they love to play, cuddle, and have fun with each other ALL DAY LONG! My husband and I now look back and could not imagine only having 1 dog. It has been such a wonderful experience that we've agreed from this point on, we will always have two! Best of luck!

Wow, I wish I could have another one! I know you know there will be a few problems but the joy with more than 1 is so much better!

I have 3 puppies, all under 1, Ruby just turned 1 last friday. I have to say it is hard work with 2 or more pups, I have my sons but I knew that from the day they came home it was down to me and I have loved having them, they are so much fun, I get a tremendous amount of joy from them, they are worth everything it takes to keep them healthy and happy.

ferrin619 - That is what happened with me, I already had Ruby, planned on having just Luka and then the breeder told me that a lady buyer had decided she couldn't take Angel, so I took her, she is the lovliest little girl, they all love each others company :)
