Types of Fence?

We have a 6 ft high fence for our dog run.

We have a 6 ft privacy fence and we used to let our 2 Boxers run freely in the backyard when we were not home but our puppy jumped the fence and explored the neighborhood. We found her 3 days later. I mever thought that it was physically possible for a 9-month old puppy to jump a 6 ft fence but she did it!!!

So now, they are in our den when we're not home.

We have a 6 foot privacy fence and it's the best investment we ever made! We put it up last summer and it's great to be able to let Boz outside and not have to tie him up (not that I would ever tie him up...that's why we put up the fence) :p

I put chain link but its actually a 4 ft. wood fence made out of railroad ties or something. Do you know the kind I mean? It also has metal fencing behind it so the dog can't get out.

Originally the fence was more decorative than functional. My in-laws used to own the house and unfortunately, they had a terrible tragedy. Their 2 year old rottie was trained to stay in the yard and wasn't left out there alone but my mother in law went in to answer the phone and Bailey must have chased an animal or something. There are train tracks behind the yard and he was hit. He lived but lost a leg and was severely injured. They had to put him down cuz he would have had to be in a cage for months and carried out to go potty (he wieghed 125). It wouldn't have been a good quality of life. After that the yard was tightly fenced. It still makes me cry to think about it.

I regularly check my fence to make sure its secure and will keep Kosmo safe.

We have a 4' woodenfence, but it was there when we moved in. I would have liked a 6' privacy fence b/c Bonnie and Dolly can dig right out. We have to keep a close eye on the. One time, when we first moved into our new home we were sanding and spacking getting ready to paint our new bedroom. While we were working we forgot the puppies were outside. They happened to dig out. We went searching for them everywere, for four hours. They were gone for about 5 hours in the rain and 5 miles away from our house. How awful. Belive it or not, Bonnie and Dolly stayed together the whole time thank goodness.

We have an irregular shaped lot. The fenced back yard is about 1/2 acre. Three sides are 6 ft cedar privacy fence. The back fence is 6 ft chain link with a 20 ft gate to get my cars in the back driveway by the garage.

In the dogs area we have a 4ft chain link inside a 10ft cedar hedge. You can see part of the yard in my gallery pictures called "outside". Boxers can jump very high!!
