Two older boys in Ontario

Hi all,

There are two 8 year old, at the moment intact, male boxers in need of a final home. I have been told that they have the energy of 4 year olds, good with kids but not so with cats. One is white, the other fawn/white - both have tails and ears done. At present they are with the owner but he wants them gone by summer. Does anybody know of anyone who would be interested in these poor guys? They are UTD on vacc. and will be neutered before being placed. In a perfect world they would go together, as they are brothers and have always had each other, but we certainly don't live in one and all inquiries will be considered.

I would appreciate it if you could spread the word that these guys are in need. They have no prior illnessess and again are in great health/shape. It would be so sad if they had to be put down, only because they are inconvenient - which is what the owner will do.

I'm actually fostering for Boxer Rescue Canada right now so they are aware that these guys are in need in the near future. I am hoping that we can get some bites (no pun intended) before push comes to shove and we have nowhere for them to go.

Good Luck Liz. It so sad that the older ones are the hardest to place. Everyone wants the young ones.
I have a pair here now 6-7 years old and have had them for 7 weeks :-(

I know it is really sad, especially when there is nothing wrong with them other than that they got old. These two guys are in great health and probably have a good 3-4 years left on them at least. I would love to take them but I have three cats who would like to keep their skin.

how bad are the boys with cats. I have just registered with a few boxer rescues in Canada and in Los Angelas. I am looking to adopt and I have no age preferance, the older ones need lovin too. can u fill me in some more. I live in Guelph, Ontario

Hi Sioux,

Well, I was told that they killed a cat once so I assume by that that they do not like cats. This could also have been because they were together (more of a pack thing) and also are unaltered. It could change if separated but I couldn't promise anything. I have not personally seen them but my brother knows them fairly well and says they are very impressive dogs. Before being adopted they will be neutered and UTD on vacc. They are still with the owner as we do not have a suitable foster home for them as yet. The owner is going to want to be rid of them by summer at the latest. Like I said before, I would love to have these guys but the cat thing is a problem for my three cats!
