Boxer Pal
Hi All. Hope everyone is well.
I have a question and I'm sure it will have both sides of opinions, and would like to hear both.
We have just recently purchased a female puppy. We have had her for about 4 four weeks now and have just been contacted by the breeder we purchased her off letting us know that her sister is still available.
I have 'heard' that two female boxers can fight a lot. I highlight 'heard'.
To add to the concern they are sisters, so I am worried that this may compound the issue even further.
Can anyone offer some advice please.
Our dogs live inside as most of yours I'm sure do, around our young kids so I just would like to hear some experience on this issue before I make the decision.
Cheers All.
We got a female Boxer pup and about a month later we got a male Rottweiler pup and approximately the same time we got a male Yorkie pup !!!
What were we thinking??? The thing is they get along GREAT!! We wanted to get a female Rottweiler but after extensive research on my part we found the overwhelming opinion was not to have 2 females in the same household. Previous to these 3 we had 3 hunting dogs, all male, all different breeds and they got along perfectly for their entire lives which was 17 years for the oldest one and 14 for the youngest. So I believe that multiple pups growing up together is ok just try to stay away from 2 females. I might add with multiple dogs people have a tendency to try and treat them equally, you will be better off if you pay attention to the pecking order that THEY establish and then honor that otherwise if you try to treat them equally they will be constantly trying to establish who is top dog. If you pay attention you will be able to figure out who is number 1,2,3,etc.and go with it. Life will be much better for all of you.
