my beautiful dog amber who is 7 has been ill for 4 months she has been treated for numerous different conditions(pancreatitis, pyometra, diabetes insipidus, high blood calcium, meningitis, mild arthritis in her spine)she has had lots of different symptoms ranging from excessive drinking(at one point she drank 20 pints of water in 24hours)back leg weakness(ranging from limping to not being able to use her back legs) ,constant panting and pacing when able, after she completely lost the use of her back legs on monday (we stopped using her steroid to use a painkiller)she was sent for a myelogram,we were expecting a slipped disk but were devestated to be told amber has a tumour(he is 99%sure) in her spinal cord just before her pelvis,he has said that there is a slim chance the tumour is between the cord and the membrane (an MRIscan will tell us for definate whether it can be removed) he said that as prednisolone has been working we can continue with that and a different pain killer ,without the op she has at most 4 months left, has any body else delt with this kind of tumour? she has her scan in 2 weeks
