I was just wondering if anyone has witnessed any type of tumors with their boxers. I just came back from leaving Dakota at the vet. to get surgery done to remove 3 tumors. One was on her shoulder and a very large one on the top of her tail. He started to grow a small one underneath her ear. I was wondering if anyone has had similiar problems and what were the results. Did they come back or did they leave completely. I did do my research on white boxers, and how sometimes they have more problems that regular boxer, but she has been fine till now. Dakota is the first boxer we have had and don't want to lose her. Not to mention that she is very beautiful, and always gets compliments on how pretty she is.

Boxers are notorious for mast cell tumors which is a type of cancer. If caught early enough and removed completely, there is usually no need for further treatment and they live healthy normal lives. Don't get too upset about it,but keep your eyes open for any and all lumps and bumps on your Boxer.

My Dad had a boxer mix named Samantha. She had an inoperable tumor on top of her head. WE all felt so bad for her. At first she was fine, but as the tumor got bigger and bigger we could see that it was getting increasingly painful. She didn't want to do anything (eat, drink, or play) and she started to go blind. That's when he decided to finally put her down. WE all knew it was coming, but it was still so very hard for him to do...as it is for everyone who has to go through it.
Best Wishes!
