Boxer Pal
I have had honey for about a week and purchased her from a pet shop (long story, bad idea). They said this pink mark is a bite from a rottwieler on her head but i am curious to weather its a bite or a tumor of some kind at early stages. Please any pictures to differ a regular bite to a tumor at an early stage would be very helpfull. Im planning on going to the vet sometime next week. Please any advice and anything u have to say would be very helpful, shes my first boxer and im in love with her allready. thanks for your help and time....

My Layla goes to doggie daycare and comes home with "war wounds"--they show up much more obviously on boxers. I know that when she first had one, I also feared the worst. The bites or nips or scratches do look like a small pink bump sometimes with hair missing. I always ran her right to the vet who told me it was just a nick from another dog. I usually put some neosporin on it and watch it closely. She has one right now and was at the vet last week who just said to keep an eye on it. Put some anitbiotic cream on it(she will lick it off--well maybe not since it's on her head!) but I would also check with your vet just in case. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck with your new pup!

I'm not sure exactly what to tell you, but my gut reaction is that if it is a bite or other injury, you probably would have seen signs of it healing/improving in the week that you've had her. I guess that wouldn't necessarily be true if it is an old injury that has healed as much as it's going to and is now a scar, though. It sounds like a trip to the vet is the right idea just to be sure. Also be sure she gets a very thorough exam. It sounds like you already know getting her from the pet store wasn't the best way to go, but it is important to try to identify any problems she might have as soon as possible. Good luck - I hope the pink spot turns out to be just play injury that will heal right up!
