Hi everyone!
Gunner is having some tummy issues and I have no idea what to do. For the last month or so he has a very upset stomach.

We started him out on Blue Wilderness duck when we first brought him home, he did great with it. Then my husband made a mistake and bought the wrong dogfood, Blue Buffalo puppy food. Again he did great. Then after reading how Boxers shouldnt consume grains, I switched his food to Blue wilderness chicken puppy formula and thats when the issues began. I slowly switched the foods and he did great until it was completley the new food. He had constant diarrhea. So after talking to the vet she said to start him on a homemade meal. Chicken breast, pumpkin and rice or oatmeal. Then gradually add in his puppy food over a period of 1 month. Hes been doing great as of the last week when we started putting more puppy food in his homemade food, now we are back to the diahrrea. He is acting perfectly normal, no fever, or lathargy. Hes full of energy and seems happy.

I have no idea what to do at this point. I can't keep cooking up pumpkins and feeding him chicken is expensive.

What do I do?

He may have an intolerance to something in the food. Also puppy food is very high in protein, so he may have an issue with that. Maybe try an adult food or an all life stages food in another braind (grain free? or limited ingredient) and see if that helps.

Good luck.

I feed my boxer Taste of the Wild and he loves it, no issues at all. He is very sensitive to wheat and grains, so I don't feed him anything with wheat or grains, not even dog treats...that seems to work for him. Your boxer probably has an issue with grains and wheat.

Thanks so much for the help. That makes total sense. One bag has too much protein and the other is full of grains and wheat. I was just so confused with him possibly having an issue with grains since he was doing so well on the homemade rice and chicken. But it looks like Blue Buffalo puts a ton of vitamins in their "lifesource bits" that could be it as well. Who knows! I did make a vet appt for Tuesday to just make sure everything is ok with his health. I finally found a Natural dog food store that sells TOTW. Wish us luck!

Now I am stuck with 2 30 pounds of bags of Blue Buffalo. O_o

If you return the Blue Buffalo to whatever store you purchased it from, even if it is used, it has a 100% money back guarantee (all of the premium foods do), So you can return it for a FULL refund regardless of reasoning or if you've used it or not.
