I trained Buddy the same way. He still boxes every now and then. When I make him switch paws and shake with the other, he groans like he's complaining. It's funny but I tell him no and start over. He does it right the second time without mouthing off! It just takes practice.

Success! appicon Scrappy has learned how to shake politely without BOXING!!!! YEAH!!!! I used edible treats with verbal praise. Now he does it with verbal praise and pets, with an edible treat now and then. Scrappy is just such a treat for me just being part of the family!
