Try to treat it at home first?

I have a question about trying to treat a little cut/sore at home first with triple antibiotic. Rommel has what looks like a cut/scrape on his foot between his 4th and 5th toe. It's not bleeding or anything. He licks it occassionly (not persistently).
I flushed it with peroxide and put some triple antibiotic on it last night and this morning doesn't look any different.
Should I just take him straight to the vet or try to see if I can treat it at home?
I know this sounds horrible, but I haven't found a new vet yet (whole other story), and Christmas has tapped the funds.

As long as it doesn't look infected I would try to treat it at home for a few days and see how it goes.

Thanks. I'll keep applying the ointment and make sure it stays as clean as possible. I guess I was looking for reassurance that it was OK not to take him to the vet.
