I can get t-bone to stand up on her hind legs while I toss treats and she'll cath them! This is a great one for showing off.

I taught Jake to take a bow by luring him halfway down with a treat and gently holding that spot for a second. (Then Mark/Treat)

Work up the time he holds that position, then roll the hand while luring down (M/T)

Then add "Take A Bow" a second before the rolling hand signal. (M/T)

It's very cute when it all comes together, and a nice finish for other tricks.

Playing dead is another easy one. From down, gently roll dog onto his side, then M/T. Then, make a gun with your hand, and roll the dog over- M/T. Then add "Bang" when the dog rolls for the hand signal-M-T.

Jakob does this from a stand and does a limp routene before 'dying' but that's pretty hard to pull off in two weeks:rolleyes:

I always liked the trick where you get your dog to hold a treat on his/her nose and you get them to quickly catch the treat in mid-air on command. I also like the "twist " idea. Good luck and keep us posted.

Storri! Abby and I are back!

I couldn't help but notice that Joe and Abby learn the same way as well. Roll-over took Abby a very long time to learn though.

But now, when we hold a treat for her, this is what happens...without saying a word:

1. she sits
2. she spins around while sitting (it's really strange)
3. she lays down
4. she rolls over
5. she rolls back over

It's so funny!!! I don't know if we'll ever get her back to just sitting again!

I've been off the board long enough for Abby to grow up! She's 8 months old now!!! I need to send you pictures so we can compare again! It would be so fun for Abby and Joe to meet though, because they look SO MUCH alike!!!

Anyway, as to my reply on this, we couldn't teach Abby to roll-over in time for graduation, so we taught her to "dance". This is a very simple trick. Just hold a treat up high enough for your pup to have to stand on his back legs. Then reward. Each time, make him stand longer and longer. It takes practice to develop balance. Don't forget, the first time you stood on two legs you weren't too steady either! Good luck!:D
