Boxer Pal
Hi all..I finally found a boxer in need of a loving, nuturing home. Unfortunately the family who owned him previously left him tied 80ft away from the house. It is obvious that they didnt feed him on a reg basis because he "saves" the bottom of the food in the bowl for later. The "choker" chain was left on so long that the hair will no longer grow. Needless to say he is not very trusting ..(of course if you were treated that way would you be???) Now that he is finally here i want to train him to bring indoors. He has been outside his whole life (4 yrs) I would like to bring him in for the winter at least. I could use tips or thoughts on how to handle this. Also any tips on training him to go outside and to learn commands. We also have a 3 year old Choc Lab we want them to be friends. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There is no reason that you can't housetrain him. He will need to learn to hold it. Being outside all the time, he has been able to go whenever he wanted. You will need to take him out often. I would suggest that you tether him to you. That way it is unlikely that he will have accidents in the house. You will readily see when he get restless and can take him outside. It wil also help him bond to you.

Good luck!
