Hi there,

We are looking for a trainer/behaviorist in the Washington DC area to help our 3-yr old rescue, who has been with us for a little over 6 months, with some obedience/behavior issues. The main issue are her fear issues about walking in an urban environment (she will refuse to walk anywhere, easily startled), her leash pulling, and her lack of recall. We probably have to do one-on-one training, since she has dog agression issues.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!!!

I am starting Rambo with a trainer in Severn, MD in 3 weeks, and can certainly update you once we get started. I got her name from the APDT website. We are doing a group class, but I know she also does individual sessions.

I just wanted to update you on the Obedience trainer that we are using in MD. The place is called Sit Stay and Play, and the training facility is in Severn, MD. You can find their website by putting the name in Google. The trainer also does individual training. We have only had 2 classes (basic obedience), but I really like her so far. She addresses a lot of behavior issues in the obedience class. I'm not sure how far Severn is from you, but so far I am really happy with her.

There is a Sticky at the top of the Behavior forum that has some good links for finding a behaviorist/trainer. It is here: http://www.boxerworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=378065&postcount=1

Good luck, and let me know if you find someone great!
