Boxer Buddy
Before I had joinged Boxer World, I remember seeing a post on the main page in regard to what toys boxers like. It was from someone that hadn't gotten their puppy yet.

I just thoguht I'd offer my experience with Higgins because it could save people some money.

Higgins loves little plastic garden pots. The ones that you might put flower seedlings in - about 3 or four inches across. The ones that I have are made out of plastic that doesn't seem to break - they just bend. And he LOVES to stick his nose in it and sort of chase it around the room in front of him. REALLY cheap and by far his favorite toy.

He also has a squeaky toy which he really likes. The squeaky toys tend to be fairly cheap and the squeak really gets him going. I was careful to sort of introduce it to him first because the squeak might scare little pups at first, but now he loves to hear it squeak.

Ordinary rubber ball or tennis ball. He loves the balls for the same reason as the little pots. If they are capable of sort of rolling away or getting away from him as he pounces after them, he loves it.

A kitchen rag. We had lots of kitchen dish rags around - the ones that are double plied and stitched and he loves to play tug with these. They will rip eventually, but it's part of the fun for him.

We went out and bought some more expensive toys at the store when we first got him and like I said - he just prefers simple stuff really. We have one nice ball on rope thing that we only take out for walks, but other than that - it's what I mentioned above. It's sort of like what you often hear about young kids - that you get them expensive fancy presents and in the end - they want to play with the box. wackicon

Boxer Insane
We have NASTY tap water, and I am too lazy to go get a filter for out reverse osmosis, so we drink bottled water, Cassius will sit patiently, wag-o-meter full bore waiting for us to finish he goes nuts when we take the sitcker off, cause then he knows it's his!!! give it a toss, and he is off to the raced. We fished out about 10 chewed up bottles from under the coffee table last night!
Other than those bottles, he loves stuffed animals, and balls too!! He will play fetch with you all day! Which is suprising cause I had always heard Boxers weren't much fro retrieving!

Spike really enjoys empty bottels as well..POP bottels are larger than the water bottels so he has fun trying to get his mouth around it. He loves to kick it down stairs and jump after it. Our daughter has given up her baby blankie for him to play tug a war with. We rolled it up in a big knot...he loves it.

I took an old sock (you know one you cant seem to find the match for) and tie 2 knots in it, each about 2 inches apart. Mens tube socks work great!!. Lola loves it!! It makes a little thump when she tosses it around because of the knots, and she loves shaking it and knocking herself in the head. She must think it's fighting back. She hasnt been able to shread it or tear it up (yet) and they can be washed in the washer when dirty or just toss them away!!

I can just imagine him sitting there waiting for the water bottle. I'll have to try that one with Higgins - I bet he'll love it.

Higgins likes to retrieve too! Well - sort of. He loves to get, and then come towards us with it, but right at the end when he might come to us and give it over - he then swerves off and goes away with it. Then we have to get it from him. It's like he knows what we want and will do it - but only so much before he feels like he has to assert some authority or something. We're trying to work on that. ;)

Thanks for sharing your toys!
