so this is the story, i had been looking for a boxer in michigan for quite a while and found a very nice looking pup in a rescue home, but he was only a few weeks old and they wouldn't let him go yet, understandable. so i talked with the lady that had him in her foster home quite often, she also is a quality boxer breeder, and she said he was small when she got him, but is coming along very nice, she also said that she believes he may have a little american bulldog in him, which is fine, because i would have him neutered, he would simply be a pet dog, no show or breeding purposes. Well when talking with the lady two weeks ago she informed me that she had over 100 applicationsfor him, at the same time i found a very nice litter of nine pure breed pups ready to go and i fell in love with and brought home tyson, the last 2 weeks have been great, and i am already think of getting another dog, as early as next spring. one of the reasons is i hate to leave tyson alone and i think he would do great with another dog, he loves to play with my friends dogs, and i have the room for another, plenty of room in the house and large fenced in back yard. well the lady with the little rescue said he is eight and a half weeks old now and ready to go and since i showed the most interest she will let me have him.
So here is the question, do i get him know and have two pups the same age? it would be easier to go through potty training all in one, instead of getting tyson trained and than having to do it all over again next spring, or should i let tyson grow for a year or two and than look for another pup to bring in the family. also what is your thoughts on bringing home this rescue, the good thing is i know he has been in a good home, and has been to a vet and had shots and everything already, and has been raised around other boxers, the bad thing is i know nothing about his parents,
your thoughts would help me out a lot,
thanks,
MIKE
