walmart crates

We bought our second boxer a crate from walmart and although it does look the same as the one from Petco, it is very different. You have to work to get the locks to line up correctly. Every once and a while when Jax is extra excited in his crate the back falls down so he can get out, so we have to put it against the wall so he isnt roaming all over the house. And it is very hard to break down to travel with. The one from Petco is awesome and well worth the extra $20 or so. No problems at all with it!

Good Luck

Crate Training experiences

Hi, We have had our little one for about 2 months now, and we have used a crate with a blanket for comfort. Breaker has progressed very well with it, and I would recommend crate training for everyone.

Breaker is now 14 weeks old, and has no reservations about sleeping in his crate. He spends a lot of time out of the crate, but when he is ready for a nap we send him off to the "kennel" and he goes without a problem.

This has really helped our housebreaking efforts as well (we go outside as soon as we let him out every time)

If you only want to buy 1 big crate, you can always block off some of the interior until your pup grows into the crate size as well. Garage sales, Animal Shelters, Local newspapers might all be good places to find a used crate (It just will be a little more work disinfecting it).

Good Luck,

Rob, Martta and Breaker
