Yes, the bridge has a new angel, my Big 'Ol Dawg, Titus. The lymphoma finally won, but not without a big and brave fight by my big boy. His quality of life was gone and he was in a lot of pain. We decided as a family to help Titus to the bridge this past Friday night. The vet confirmed that nothing more could be done and that the lymph nodes in his groin were the size of lemons. Thursday night, Titus cried all night and even the strong pain medicine didn't seem to help. Friday afternoon, my son was home with him and he seemed to rally, walking around and eating. So I needed to hear from the vet that we were making the right move. Two solid days of crying finally came to an end for me. We put Titus' blankie on the table and my son lifted him up. I said my good-byes, but couldn't be in the room when it happened. My son and BF stayed and held him as he passed. We will get his ashes back this week in an oak box with a picture frame. It will go on a shelf with his collar and tags and favorite well-chewed ball. I just know Jake and all of the BW babies and my childhood dogs were waiting to greet him. We miss him and little Lady seems depressed. We are showering her with even more love and attention. The house is quieter and sadder, but we are moving on.

Titus: We were robbed, Big Guy. You were only eight and part of our lives for only 5-1/2 years. But our lives are richer from you being in it, even for a short time. If I could erase cancer from the planet, I would. No one should suffer as you did in those final days. I miss you and your antics so much - from the torn up packages under the Christmas tree, to the overturned bathroom trash cans and items disappearing from the kitchen counters. I expect to walk into the bedroom and find you at the foot of the bed, hugging your favorite quilt. When I rattle the treat jar in the kitchen, only one dog comes in now. Lady misses you so much. Please be her guardian angel and send her a message that you are OK. She is looking for you and sniffing the areas where you were. The night you left us, both Daddy and I had the same dream - you were running with all of the babies at the bridge. I guess that was your message to us. Rest well, Mr. T.

I'm so sorry Titus lost his battle to lymphoma. It's always difficult to see them suffer and to have little choice but to say goodbye.

Godspeed Titus.

I am truly sorry. You can be thankful you got the chance to love him and to be able to say goodbye, that is a blessing. Sometime we don't always get to say goodbye to those we love. Good bless and I know your boy is watching over you and so happy that he doesn't hurt anymore.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry for your loss. You know you did the right thing and Titus is very grateful for it. He'll be watching over you and your family - he is now free from pain. Cherish your happy memories and love Lady all you can.
