Seriously, how many of you tip toe to the kitchen for a snack? Sometimes I feel like a Ninja in stealth mode, trying to open the package of cookies with out the puppers hearing the bag rip open.

Today both dogs were zonked out on my bed. I snuck into the kitchen on my tippy toes, ever so gently opened the cupboard door, quietly reached for the box of donuts, slowly shut the cupboard door so it didn't squeek. Tipped toed back into the den and started counting.

One, two, th,,,"thump" Ty was off the bed and on his way looking for his share of the goods! It's not that I am being selfish. :o

Tyson knows I'm going to share but he is so impatient!
When I am eating he will stare at me. As long as I eat "looking" at him, he's fine. If I look away, he'll start barking, excessively  it's almost like he's saying,
"DOH!! She's going to forget me! HEY, HEY, I'm over here. Gimme the food, Gimme the food!!!

My husband, the wise one, says I am teaching him bad manners. So now when we eat, Tyson has to leave the kitchen. So Tyson being the "all mighty wiser one" sits in the other room but peeks around the corner and barks, excessively LOL

OOOH...YEAAAAAH!! i'm glad i'm not the only one going through that...zeus was upstairs in a dead sleep and i thought that was my one chance to enjoy a snack bar w/o sharing w/him. my kitchen is pretty small so when i open the pantry door, it blocks the kitchen entrance really good. i had opened this pantry door, taken my snack bar out, closed the pantry door and he was already sitting right there w/this look on his face:
"You thought you could sneak around huh???"
how do they do that?!?!?!

Capone thinks if he give you his paw he should get a treat so he will sit next to you giving one paw then the next paw over and over again. So we have started to work on the down and stay now he look out of the corner of his eye if to say see mom Im not begging for food anymore. What a goober!!

Katie used to do the begging thing too....now she just looks at ya' with the

"I am an Abused Dog" look on her face. She'll give a big sigh and then lay down at your feet. But heaven forbid you set that plate down for any reason and walk away!

They really do not miss a thing, do they? Then we get that boxer puppy eyed look, "But mom, look at me, can you really NOT give me some of what you have?" I am smiling as I write this!

Speaking about sneaking away. When Samson was little I had a lot of work to do in the office (now I let it pile up, just kidding). From about 9 - 14 weeks of age he was very attached to me, and still is, but he was young enough that I had to watch him that much closer. His favorite spot was in my husband's office chair, next to me, wrapped in a baby blanket, while I worked at my desk. I would try so hard to tip toe away from that chair, just for a moment's break. It did not matter how softly I crept away, I could hear him plop to the floor and follow me! The office was in the basement at that time, and it was winter, so that is why he got the baby blanket treatment. Before long, he had the basement steps mastered...I could hear those huge feet and heavy breathing coming up those stairs, at just 3 months old, ha!

I can't go anywhere without Tae following me. I even tell her to "stay" and I'll be right back, but if my "errand" involves going upstairs or downstairs she follows.

A funny snack story... Has anyone shared a popsicle with their Boxer? Tae looooves them. I don't feel to bad about sharing, since I've read that dogs have less bacteria in their mouths than we do. Anyhow, I buy these all fruit popsicles and we alternate licks. Actually, I usually take bites and Tae then smoothes over the rough edges with her tongue :) The only problem is when I try to sneak in an extra bite, she #1, begins salivating excessively and, #2, climbs up into my lap out of impatience. It's so funny!

When I at the bottom of a cup of yogurt and start scrapping the bottom, Quinsi will wake up from a dead sleep and come over and wait to lick out the cup. Gunner will hear the fork scraping the bottom of a plate and come over and stare. Of course when I look at him he looks away as if to say "I wasn't looking"

The funniest thing is going into the kitchen and when you turn around...ABRACADABRA...they are there like a Sigfried and Roy magic trick!

Rocky has some kind of food radar in him...he can hear the pantry or fridge being opened up even in a dead sleep! He also gives me the stare followed by the paw to the knee with a little excited wiggle. Mia the boston begs for food by making "pretty-eyes". She blinks slower and slower until her eyes are slits and she is looking at me with this sad little face!

My candy weakness is Whoppers malted milk balls. I buy them in the carton container that looks like a milk carton and when you turn it up to get the candy, the balls roll around and make a hollow noise. Whenever Farley hears this, he perks up to attention, no matter what he was doing. I've never given him one, as they're chocolate, but he's very persistent!
