Jake has these spots on both eyes. He's a bit on the stout side and the doc said these are probably lipid deposits as a result of too much fat in his diet. I personally think this doc is nuts as far as that being the cause but I 've noticed even though I have him on weight loss food and no snacks with fat, he still has them.

They don't bother him, though they did show up after I had been treating him for a corneal abrasion. He had conjunctivitus for a long time that we just couldnt clear up.

Hi There,

My 3 1/2 year old boy has one one each eye. The first we noticed in October lst year. Vet did a dye test to see if he had run into something, but it was fine.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed one on the other eye, so I posted a thread and did some research.

I found out it could be whats called corneal Dystrophy, which is another things Boxers are prone to.

Hes booked for the vet again in a couple of weeks for other stuff so I am going to take my list of questions in to them and see what I can find out. My vet is so used to me now after Thais AS diagnosis. She knows Im on the internet collecting all sorts of info.

The vet can do a dye test, whcih takes about ten seconds and tell you if the eye has been damaged and it doesnt cost a lot.

hope it all turns out for you

At that age it probably isn't a cataract. I had poodle once that had eye surgery at 2 yrs old. The eye doc said it was the youngest he had ever performed the procedure on. Likely the culprit was poor breeding (inbreeding).

Mika has had Corneal dystrophy for years. It is only recently that she has shown signs of having difficulty seeing. Our recent visit to the vet confirmed that her sight has deteriorated as she now has Nuclear Sclerosis as well. She barks more because she doesn't see well, and gets a little frustrated with Samson when playing but otherwise she gets around fine and doesn't seem to notice the loss of her sight. When it is a gradual thing they just adapt I guess.
I hope this helps easy your worry, and that everything turns out ok.
