First off, let me say how sorry I am for all that are going thru or going to have to go thru what we are... As I can see on these boards we are all going thru tough times with out beloved pets...
Spoke to the vet this morning (have known her for 17 yrs and she is like a good friend) and I knew she would talk to me like a friend not just a vet...She said we need to bring him in and have him put to sleep...This is not going to get better and she said that everytime his heart stops and then starts and he pants, it is probably because he is experiancing chest pain. But I am having such a hard time with this...He is still wagging his stubby tail and trying to eat (not able to do much) but she said that that doesn't matter..He is still experiancing heart problems and that at this point in his life (11yr 4 months)it will only get worse. Better to let him go while we can be with him and him go peacefully, instead of him suffering and possibley throwing a clot to the brain because the blood is getting sluggish with every stop and start of his heart... or him dying alone....:(
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do...We will be taking him in around 10 this morning...Please say a prayer for Doc so that he will cross peacefully....
Thank you,
Theresa

I am so sorry. What a horrible decision to have to make. just know you are doing what has to be done and you have only your baby's interest at heart. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Theresa, I am so sorry that doc is not doing well. I will pray for doc. know that all of our boxers that have crossed the bridge will be there waiting for doc. to play and run with the butterflies. he will be in no more pain and he will be there waiting for you with his nubby wagging.

I am so sorry to hear about Doc. I also went through this with my Cody and it was the hardest thing to do, but also the best thing for him. He would not have wanted to live like that because he was too proud and strong.

It does get easier with time, although I never believed it. I still miss Cody every day, but I know he is with all the other dogs having fun and I will be with him again some day.

You and Doc are in our prayers.

I'm sorry you are having to do this, but he will be among those who love him when he crosses the bridge, not alone.

thinking of you both today. Its the hardest thing in the world to do but its the last kind thing we can do for our pets.

Theresa--I'm so sorry. I read your post yesterday and felt so sad for Doc and you, as well. Take some solace in the fact he lived a long life for a Boxer boy, though perhaps that doesn't matter right now...

As I right this, Doc is probably frolicking among the flowers with his friends new and old at the Rainbow Bridge...
