Murphy had been in his glory for the last few days. My roomie and I are moving this week and we were trying to figure out how to pack without Murphy attacking boxes. Well my roomies boss had offered to look after Murph while we packed. I thought this was absolutely fantastic of her so I packed up his bag of goodies and took him to the farm.
My boy is in doggie heaven. He has 10 other dogs to play with as well as 6 cats, and about 50 head of horses, and 1 sheep that figures he's a dog.. He is loved by all the dogs and the cats well that is another story. I have a big tom cat which is the alpha in the house. Ever since I brought Murph home Harley has kept him in line, so he has always had a cat to play with. Out on the farm he has 6 cats to play with. They have figured out that Murph is just a big kid and they play with him like he's one of them. It is the funniest thing. Murph will chase them around the farm and then next thing you know he's running full blast, ears bent backwards over his head, tongue hanging out, big smile on his face with all 6 cats chasing him. He has never hurt them and they have never hurt him, but they play so well together. It is a sight that I have never seen before.
THe sheep, Babe, is something of a nut case. He would come in the house if you let him. He thinks he's a dog and has taken to Murph quite well. They play like two dogs would. THe chase each other around the yard and get the other dogs involved.
It must be a boxer thing. He is loved by all the animals including the horses and he is getting an education that I can't give him in town. I mean people fall in love with him everywhere he goes and now the animals.
What can you say about the boxer, their whole mission in life is to be loved and to make friends, when you can add other animals into this mix life is just beautiful.
I guess the bonus is is that my roomie and I are moving to a farm to raise and train horses so this is just a small taste for Murphy as to what he will be around for the next years of his life. Could life be any better? I think not!
