Has anyone tried the Thunder Vest before to help with separation anxiety and behaviors? I don't want my girl, Slick, to feel so overwhelmed and worried everytime we leave so was thinking about giving it a try. At this time she is locked in the kennel when we leave unless it is nice outside and she will be outside. We have a doggy door that she uses just fine but when we try leaving her loose to come and go, she destroys our stuff and wont touch her food or toys.

I have an anxiety wrap for Juno, which is essentially the same thing... And she just goes and lies down when she's wearing it. :) Which is opposed to her being restless and destroying things. So yep, it worked for us.

Yep tends to calm them down a bit though we havent used for separation anxiety. The other thing we do for Reo sometimes is spray his bed in his crate with lavender. Its amazing how calm he is when he comes out of the crate :). We have also sprayed the car seats with it to help him be more calm when in the van :)

Thanks guys for responding. I did just go ahead and buy one for Slick and have used it once and my husband said that when he came home that day, she was laying in her kennel sleeping, as opposed to waiting at the door and having chewed up everything. Nothing was chewed at all this time. So it appears that it may just work.

We just got a Thunder Vest for Bella

My dog Bella has seperation anxity as well, and tends to get into things while we are gone. The other day she broke into the bathroom somehow and ate two bars of Irish Spring soap, and destroyed alot of my girlfriends expensive make-up. We are buying a new home this month and are willing to try anything to calm her down when we are gone. We just bought a Thunder Vest yesterday, and soon as i put it on her she went and laid down. Im not saying its the miracle, save all but it did something to her. Today will be her first full day of wearing it while we are gone, i am anxious to see what condition our house is in when we return. I will update our results later this evening. I really hope it does what it says, wish us luck.

Thunder vest seems to work

Well we have been using the thunder vest for afew days now, and we have been getting great results with Bella. Bella completly changes when we put it on her, and she seems to feel comfortable in it. I only use the vest when we leave her home alone, or if we have company. I recomend this product for those that have a anxiety boxer

i have a 6 month old boxer who has also just started getting into things when i'm out even after lots of exercise which makes me think it is anxiety not boredom. i have looked at getting a thundershirt or wrap and would like to hear more success stories. i have just invested in the DAP diffuser which is supposed to help with anxiety too. anyone tried one of these with success?

I have not tried any of the wraps but I have read an article that the Anxiety Wrap for dogs worked better than the Thunder Shirt for one dog. They are the same price, so consider both before you buy. ;)

We have been using the Thundershirt for a few weeks now and everything was going great. Occassionally, Slick would have something of ours outside, like my slipper or something random from our coffee table, but nothing chewed all up. All of a sudden, she is back to chewing things and taking everything she can of ours outside and destroying it. So, I'm not sure if maybe she jsut got used to the Thundershirt or what. It did give us a few good weeks.

You might want to consider putting it on her at times when she's not being left alone. Like when you're hanging out at home or going for a walk etc. Otherwise, if she only wears it when she's alone, the vest will sort of become a cue that she's going to be left--and the anxiety she starts feeling as soon as she sees the vest will override any of its benefits.
