Thunder anyone?

I live in VA and got absolutely no sleep last night because it was thundering really good outside. No real rain to speak of, just a good old fashioned thunder storm. It started about 1:00 AM and Baron started barking like someone was at the door. I thought I would get lucky and let him outside before he woke up the whole house. No such luck. By the time I came back to the bedroom, Cricket and Zoie were both barking rediculously loud and whining too.

Does anyone else's boxer flip out during a thunder storm?

I am sitting here laughing because I have no clue where Glen Allen is but I'm in Stafford (can't be very far!) and we had a NASTY little thunderstorm come through around 1 or 1:30 last night, tons of lightning, and massive crashes of thunder every 5-10 seconds. I got NO sleep! Luckily Lucy doesn't mind thunderstorms at all, I think she was more irritated by the constant strobe light type lightning because she got up on the bed and got under the blankets!

Glen Allen is sorta the west/north west/ end of Richmond. Up near Short Pump but not quite.

we live in thje hudson valley and we are reknowned for amazing thunder storms...gilly is the biggest wuss she runs and pants,tail down beneath dw's dressing table...fireworks are just as bad...we live by vassar college and they seem to have them all the time...we usually take a ride accross town when we know that theyre coming...paul

Well we are down the road in Md and it was a rough night last night and Moe is in a really grouchy mood today. He is terrified of thunderstorms and no one got any sleep last night. Hard to sleep with a 60 lb dog laying on top of you and jumping every few minutes. The whole weekend seems to gonna be the same way....

Rocky does quite well in thunderstorms - although sometimes the very loud thunder will wake him. That's when he'll get up from the foot of the bed and actually plop down right beside me.
The only time he is scared is during hurricanes - due to the things hitting the shutters, etc. Then again, who could blame him

Siren will get protective at what she perceives as bad noises, but she doesn't mind thunder and lightening. Our min pin on the other hand, is literally TERRIFIED of loud noises like thunder and wind (we get good wind here) and fireworks especially. This is NOT his time of year.

I think Dakota LOVES thunder and lightening as much as her mommy and daddy; however a drop of rain? AAACKKK!! Crouched, tail tucked under, planting her paws and refusing to move one more step, trying her very best to get out of the rain.

Max is terrified of thunder storms and we had some really nasty ones roll thru last week, Max manages to wake me everytime with his panting and pacing, not only that but Xavier is learning to feed off of Max`s fear (I think) because he`s starting to do the same things panting, pacing, and whinning

Mine too!

Otis was terrified the other night when it was thundering. It was his first storm . He was so cute, but scared! He also had me standing out in the rain the other day for 40 min because it was distracting him from "going". Gotta love puppies .

Hobart and Nestle pay absolutely no attention to thunder. I'm really surprised about that because Hobart is afraid of so many things! But for all I know he could have spent his first 12 weeks of life outside in thunderstorms so who knows? I know several people who's dogs totally freak out in thunderstorms and it's really sad and miserable for everyone involved.
