Tuff Love
Boxer Insane
That's right- she's already earned herself a nickname
. Such a spunky little girl we have. Friday, we sat in traffic in the rain for over 2 hours, both ways, on our little puppy mission. My father-in-law tagged along with me to hold her while I drove since dh had to work. 2 of her siblings were already gone when we got there, but the other 5 were there and full of energy and puppy breath. I have some video that I'll upload later on when I get a chance.

She was good in the car after an initial short period of crying and slept most of the way home.

When we got home she had no trouble warming up to her new yard and her new neighbors:

Penny and Digger were equally excited to meet her

We took her to meet my parents and their dog Zach after my father-in-law left. My dad will be watching her during the day while I'm at work for the first couple months, so I thought the sooner they meet the better. Zach absolutely adored her! He brought her his ball and plopped it in front of her, and when it got away from her he'd go fetch it and bring it back to her. It was so cute! He was dancing around with excitement as if saying "thank you for brining me a puppy!" I wish I had pictures from that.
She had her first vet appointment Saturday morning and all is good (whew!)
After her first night with us she really came to life, running around like a nut and chewing on anything she could get her hands on, including me! My husband says we should have named her Roxy because she keeps chewing the concrete in the yard
She also enjoys chewing on the fibers that hang down from underneath the couch. I don't know what to do about that other than correct her until her head is too big to fit under it haha.
And she's not afraid of ANYTHING. Yesterday we went to my grandparent's for dinner... She was having a ball, playing in the yard and getting spoiled with hugs and kisses from my parents and grandparents. So dinner time rolls around and my husband lets her out to try to get her to do 'business' before we sit down to eat. I start helping serve dinner and go down to see what's taking them so long. I open the back door and see my dh and my puppy SOAKED. Both husband and puppy dripping wet and shivering- dh fully clothed with his sneakers, sweatshirt, wallet, the whole shebang. Evidently Thora kicked her ball into the pool and went fearlessly diving in after it, and of course, hubby followed! Thank god she was only in there for a split second. I held her in a towel for an hour while she warmed up. Cleaned her ears real well and made her play a bit to see how she was feeling. She bounced right back
After that incident, she's either going to love water or hate it!

So she had a very busy and exciting first weekend home. I have tons of pictures and video that I'll add later as I get some time. Right now she's at grandma and grandpa's playing with Zach. She's not a fan of car rides yet OR hanging out in the bathroom with me while I shower and get ready for work. So hopefully she gets into routine quickly. She's a quirky little thing. We have tons of talking and funny squeaking toys from Tuff, and she whines and howls at them when they make noise. She's so silly
