Hi everywone!!

I have a 2 1/2 year old fawn fixed male. I am thinking of adopting a white male who I believe to be fixed. Should I be concerned about males getting along or would I have to wait and see what happens when they meet. Should I set up a time for the "boys" to meet? What should I expect with two boxers?

Thanks,
Bryon

Go ahead and adopt. If the rescue org. doesn't insist, you can, first thing or at 6 mo. old, have the adopted male neutered.

Go for it!!!

Some people do believe that having 2 same sex Boxers is a risky thing but I strongly believe it depends on the individual dog. If your male has been socialized chances are he'll be fine. If it works out that your new boxer isn't fixed just make sure you have him fixed when age/health permits. I too have been strongly contemplating on adopting a deaf Boxer, good for you. Good luck & let us know how it all pans out.

I have a deaf boxer and we have a connection I have never experienced before with a hearing dog. She is alwyas focused on me and really wants to please me. I have taught her 14 hand signals, but most of the time she knows what I want her to do by the look on my face and my body language. Deaf dogs are wonderful, wonderful dogs. I hope to always have one. Good luck to you.

Stella's Mom your response about having a special connection with your deaf boxer is so intriguing and when you think about it,it makes so much sense..why she would be so focused on you for cues on how to react.Oh and by the way I love your avatar picture! Is that your girl..

I have a Foster dog from Rescue I'm nursing back to health. She is deaf I found out. I have had her for 13 days I was surprised how easy it has been to teach her hand signals. I have adjusted to her needs very easy and sometimes she seems to come when I'm only thinking about her coming. hmmm she's alittle mind reader too! I am surprised too that after the obvious abuse and neglect she is gentle and kind with everyone. We love her and have decided to keep her forever!!!! She is a true Boxer through and through.
