Thinking about lifting that leg

Samson is 3 months from his second birthday. For the past few days, he has been holding his leg slightly off the ground when he pees outside. (It's funny what becomes important for me to post )
It is so funny - it's like he is trying to decide if he should lift his leg or not. He only holds it up for a few seconds and he is just picking it straight up instead of off to the side.
I had to share a turning point about my boxer boy! :)

I hope he does it! If you want, that is! My boy still isn't and he is already over 2 years old! I have seen him lift his leg 2 times and both times I've been stunned! And I also thought it was a turning point, but nope... still squatting.

Ah well. Sometimes he lifts one of his front paws, thats quite funny looking. :)

Good luck to you Samson!

 It IS funny isn't it, but hey, share away - we understand!!! :D

Congrats on the almost milestone!!! :D All the things our babies do are worth bragging about!!

p.s. My Bail is 7, and sometimes he lifts and sometimes not...just depends on his mood I guess. And I love hearing about all of you guys' stories about your puppies and the funny/significant ;) things they do - keep em' coming!!

Bentley's 9 months and has only done the half leg lift twice. I almost wish he would lift his leg just so maybe he wouldn't pee on his paws! Sometimes it goes so straight forward he hits his front paws. Ewww.

Thinking about it.....

My Bruno is 6 months old and I don't think he has ever lifted his leg. I am hoping he does not ever do it. My other dog is a female so I don't think he knows that he is supposed to hike his leg. Poor Baby....

Jake didn't lift his leg 'properly' until he was almost 2. Before that he would try and end of tipping over and peeing on the other leg! It depends on what he's peeing on that will determine if he lifts or squats - and he still frequently squats.

Sometimes Elvis will cock his leg, but can sometimes be embarrasing as he misses his target by miles and his pee goes everywhere!

Also sometimes he will cock his leg on open grass with nothing to cock up and this looks really odd to others!

But most times he will squat.

Rocco is 11 months, and strated lifting his leg on occassion since he was 10 months. I think its great except that everytime he does it in the yard it is on my lawn furniture...

The first time he did it was the funniest. He lifts his leg and starts to go, then decides its not high enough and lifts it higher. Well, he must have lifted to high becuase he lost his balance....HE NEVER STOPPED GOING. Well, he went all over himself, legs stomach, chest...it was so funny. When he finally did stop he gave me this look of...I'm never doing that again. He still does it, and its still on my lawn furniture.

Ronin is 2-1/2 and it took him forever to figure out this task  He still only lift's his leg on occasion. Most of the time, he just leans forward and doesn't hike his leg at all. Silly dog :)
