Hey guys!
I'm newly registered but have been using this forum for some time to help solve some problems with my pup Kyser. The folks at the vet call him the "problem child". Hes 8 months old and allready has a medical history chart thats 10 pages long! We saved Kyser from a guy that worked two jobs and was never home when he was a pup. Hes been through kennel cough, whipworms, tapeworms, ear infections, and his latest is mange (demodox). I've had him on Ivomec for about 5 days and am praying it will start working soon.
I have 2 questions. First, have any of you had to deal with seperation anxiety? . Kyser follows us everywhere in the house. If I'm cooking dinner, hes in the kitchen. If I'm going to the bathroom, hes right by my side. This dosnt bother me cause hes soo damn cute, but I'm worried because when my girlfriend and I leave him alone in the house, he gos frantic and gets very destructive. If we crate him when we leave, we come back to a sopping wet kyser from excessive drooling. We've tried putting peanut butter in his kong to help distract him with no luck. He wont even touch his favorite treats when were gone. He fixates on us not being there. I've done all the drills and we dont make a big deal out of leaving and coming home. Anyone have any ideas? We put him in the backyard now that hes older (which works great)but with summer here I'd like to be able to leave him in the house with the AC. Second, Im noticing a crusty flaky skin at the tips of kysers ears. The vet was positive its not demodox. She thought it might be from his ears hanging in his water bowl but im not convinced. His ears arnt big enough to reach the water. The hair , when lightly pulled, comes right out of this area and it feals raised to the touch. It looks really dry and kinda scaley. Any ideas?
