The Midnight Pee at 9 months??

Tyson is 9 months old, and he still on most nights gets up wonders around the house then asks to go outside!

There are nights that he doesn't need to go out, but will wonder around for a half hour before settling down again.

At his age I don't think he NEEDS to go outside, I think he does it because hes up and that's what he should do.

So how can I stop his midnight pee habit, and the night time wondering?
Tyson is not crated and sleeps in a bed right outside my door and sometimes in our bed I guess it depends on his mood

He could have to go, I think Napoleon was about 2 when he stopped waking during the night. They are all different. Just be patient with him.
He is still a baby.

By that age I'd definitely be done with the late night potty breaks. You simply just ignore them and eventually they get the hint. But you have to kind of trust his housebreaking skills... if he really DOES have to go potty, will he try harder to communicate that to you or will he just pee in the house? Juno normally sleeps like a rock through the night, but sometimes she does have to go potty, and sometimes she just has restless nights when she wants to wander the house. I always start off by ignoring her or telling her to go lay down, and normally she obliges, but if she actually has to go potty then she relents and keeps whining and groaning at me. So then I know she's serious and needs to go outside.

I don't think you can really stop him from getting up and wandering around, unless you confine him. But at the moment it's a habit for him... if you cut out the late night potty break then I think he'll be more likely to just sleep through the night.

I know that if i lets Achilles (1yr 2mo) wounder around he will need to have a potty break during the night, i guess cause he stays active playing with his toys or watching the birds. I do trust him not to potty inside but i dont like waking up in the middle of the night to Achilles pawing at my face to wake me up for a potty break.

What worked for us is we put a baby gate to lock him in our room at night, it still gives him the opportunity to investigate any noises me might hear but keeps him from finding something to play with. When the baby gate is up he can sleep in his bed from 11:00pm-9:00am and then an additional 3hours if we let him jump on our bed once he wakes up.

None of my dogs have ever night trained because I still pee at night. Sometimes twice, kidney disease. It's a natural occurrence in our house. Lol

Raiden is 11 months and just recently stopped doing his 2am pee. I can't make it through the night without getting up either, so I didn't mind too much. He is also in our room with the door closed all night with no water during that time. If he was up and wandering and drinking during the night like he does during the day, he would be bugging me a handful of times. Now he can make it to about 6am when I am often starting to get up with the kids and he has a good 3 minute long pee outside at that point.

Bodie did the midnight pee for several months. He sleeps on the couch in the livingroom, and for a long time he would come in and wake me up in the middle of the night to go out. As soon as he went, he'd go right back to sleep. He's 17 months old now and if I let him out before I go to bed and make sure he pees, he sleeps all night. Maybe his bladder is maturing, or he's just more tired at night from playing with his sister! Either way, it's nice not to have a snuffling wet nose in my face at 2 am!

Wow do I ever wish I held the answer to this one. My Tuff would sleep until 5 in the afternoon without a stir if I felt the inclination to be a sloth all day long. Thora on the other hand just turned 1 last month and is still waking me up almost every night at all hours to go out and pee. What's worse is I have to CARRY her down our spiral staircase to do so because she's absolutely terrified of walking down it. So yeah.. I feel your pain,
