OH my gosh Linda your story breaks my heart so bad. I am sitting here crying like a baby. The thought of you holding him absolutely kills me. My 11 year old lab Zoe is almost there and it makes me sick to think about it. So, so sorry for your loss. My family and I have you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, Kelley. I really appreciate your kind words. It was an extremely difficult thing to stay with him, but I wouldn't have done it any other way. I'm still grieving for him, especially with what I am going through with Abby.

If you know that Zoe's "time" is near, I hope that you are able to put other things aside and just be near her. I gave Shadow whatever he wanted his last two days. I even shared my peanut brittle that I brought back from Texas!
