The hardest goodbye - Darla

Thank you so much everyone for all of the kind words, it really means/helps a lot :)
It has been a rough few days but I know that she is pain free now.

I am just thankful that we had the opportunity to give her that last amazing day. The weather here has literally been cloudy and rainy every single day this week except Wednesday (that day). It was just a perfect day. It was meant to be, for her and for us.

I have been going through tons of old videos and pictures, and I am SO happy that I was able to have captured so many great memories with her.

Here is a picture of her just a couple of days before

The right thing to do is often the hardest thing to do. May sweet Darla rest in peace and may your find some solace in the happy memories. They say time heals all wounds, but in the moment of loss, time seems to take forever. Keep the happy memories in the front of your mind and lean on Boxerworld when you feel the hurt. This community is the best and as you limp through this loss you'll have a whole community of people that have experienced a similar hurt at one time or another. It's surely a small consolation for your loss but you have people who know the love of a boxer and the pain of losing one. The pain still hurts but community helps.

I am so sorry for your the loss of your beloved Darla. The decision to "let go" is one of the most difficult, yet most loving that we are forced to make for our sweet fur-babies... her memory lives on, and she is free from pain, yet it is very difficult. My thoughts & prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Godspeed, Darla!

So sorry for your loss. Doesn't matter if it's a day, week, month, year or years, it's never long enough this these amazingly human dogs. Blessed you had a good day as the last day, that memory should be a happy one. Know she knows you helped her from the pain and you cared enough not to let her suffer.
