The eccentricities of a Boxer mind

Hi Everybody .... what weird non-sensical things do your boxers do ?

In our house we have two large bowls of water in the kitchen and two large bowls of water outside, that are constantly full and fresh ..... YET as soon as anyone in the house takes a shower, Luna races to the bathroom and waits until the shower ends so that she can lap up the water from the shower floor as if she is dying of thirst !!

Maybe water tastes better with a little eau-de-human added :)

Our Autry boy loved to drink from sprinklers when walking in the hot summer. He would look at the sprinkler, look both ways twice, to see if the coast was clear, and wait for the command "OK, boy" before taking a drink.

I miss him and his crazy antics.

Our drinking practices are somewhat the same. Fresh water inside by their food dishes is left in favor of toilet water. Fresh water outside on the patio is left in favor of rain water puddled in the grandkids' sandbox.

Blankets or pillows are always pawed up to fit perfectly under their heads when napping on the couch.

Whenever we give Romeo something to eat from our hands, he touches it with his nose first then takes it from our hands.

Rocky is also silly about his water. He has a large bowl of fresh water inside, but will almost always go outside to drink...but not just to drink any old water out there. We had to install a spigot so he can have running water. He's the same way at the dog park too! He'll stand at the water bowl until someone walks over and presses for the water to run.

Completely Boxer Crazy
Gus must absolutely have a look/sniff/clean my finger if I: pick a scab on him, wipe his eye, scratch an ear inside a bit, even if I pick dried mud/flower puff/seed pod off his fur he has to examine it. I've never had a dog do this before but he definitely wants to see what I'm getting off him. Funny funny boy!

Bode will only get on the bed from my side. If you try to get him to jump up on the other side he will sit down. Silly because he will jump off any side.

Fawn loves the shower water also. But given the chance she will come into the shower with me to get the water coming down. But if it is raining you have to push her outside to go.

Tyson prefers to lick the shower water off the side of the tub to his fresh water bowl. He too has to examine everything you take off of him, even if it is a piece of lint. He circles at least 10 times on this bed before laying down and if he's going to lay on the bed he won't lay on top of the blankets, he has to scratch them down so he's laying right on the sheet with his head on the pillow.
